All, I went to the local dive show here in Atlanta this weekend. I got to talk to the local DUI rep and he answered a bunch of questions I had about drysuits. I went by the Cochran table and listened to their spiel. I think I'll stick with my ScubaPro SPG and uwatec depth/bottom timer. The sales dudes knew their stuff and did good demos.. I had a good converstaion with the DR crew there. They had the MLS on display and I got to tear it apart and ask questions. It is a step up from the Neutraleak in that it has a captured oring to seal it when the cap is screwed on. The battery insert has "builtin" bulkheads which kind of makes me wonder how strong the container is without the insert. The WORST part of the construction relates to the way the battery wiring connects to the "male" top of the container. The top of the battery assembly has two "end-of-your-thumb" sized contacts that it presents to the top of the container. The top of the container has two wires screwed onto fixed posts which lead to the cable/lighthead. The electrical connection is made is by laying the posts on top of the contacts and screwing the top of the container down. The battery assembly rotates withing the pressure container and maintains the alignment of the posts and contacts. It just seems way too complex to not screwup.. I think I'll stick with the AUL Spectrum 14 and its lower tech trailer connectors. BTW the DR MLS ain't cheap either... The DR rep said that the bottom of the AUL lights are glued on and prone to having the glue deteriorate and then leak. It sounded like a pile to me. Anyone have an experience like this without having abused the light? Jeff
