Text item: Does this mean you are going diving, in water, again? Thanks to all who replied here on the list and via private email about how I rigged my deco bottles. > first, you should have the spg on a 7 inch hp hose. Securing the SPG to the first stage sounds like a better idea than running it down the length of the bottle. Less to have to mess with. > power up the reg and shut down the valve, this seats all the > components to keep out any crap or water if your second stage > doesn't leak, and in the event of the reg free flowing-you don't > loose your gas This is actually what I did, but not for these exact reasons. > the deal with putting the bottle on upsidedown is probably not a > good idea, since you cannot see it leak or malfunction-also you > might bang or drag it-also you now cannot see your new 7 inch hose > w/spg I can now see why the upside down bottle was not the best solution. Being able to see the first stage is important in case of malfunction or failure. It will also protect the first stage. I will try this on my next dives in two weeks.
