Anyways, I call it as I see it. Why do you NEED an SPG on your deco bottle? Take this scenerio. A diver is breathing his deco bottle with no spg, and for some damn reason, he feels the reg is starting to breath hard, and af few breaths later he can no longer get gas from the bottle. He now has to deal with the problem, a problem that presented itself rather quickly. Same scenerio, but this stroke-free diver has an spg on his bottle. He's known for quite sometime that he has a problem, and has ample time to deal with the situation appropriately. I'm sure others will argue that it doesn't matter, were supposed to be perfect divers with lightening quick reflexes. Well, we just can't all be like George (great video by the way), and I'd rather have ample warning of a potential problem. And spg's don't cost that much, if you know where to shop for them. My humble opinion, if its cheap and tells you something that you should be aware of, then it should be part of your gear. Let's face it, an aware diver is a safe diver. It's like flying a plane without a fuel gauge... The pilot realizes he needs to find a place to land his ass only after the engine stops. If there ever was a published set of standards for deco, I'm sure it would include requiring an spg on all your bottles. Oh wait, there is a set of standards out there, isn't there? Hey George, donate a tape to this poor guy. ALongtin@ao*.co*
