I checked my pharmacology references & found the following: Mefloquine (Larium) used as a prophylaxis for malaria.Adverse reactions which could be confused with DCS include Nausea & vomiting, dizziness, syncope (fainting) headache and fatigue. About 1 in 10,000 users have CNS disturbances which may include seizures or hallucinations. So,uncommon but possible. As to its interactions with a hyperbaric environment,i dont know.BTW,on interesting note:DONT take this stuff concurrently with quinine (the historical treatment for malaria); it can have severe cardiovascular effects.Contraindicated for pregnancy in all stages, and should be taken for 1 week prior to and 4 weeks after visiting the high-risk area (the lariam that is,not the quinine). Hope this helps. John L. Dunk Tallahassee,Fl. screwloose@ne*.co*
