Well i did it without your help anyway. I took my four tanks, helmet and other stuff and dived in the uncharted river. The viz was bad, about 6inches, as i descended anxiously. It was pea soup and i couldnt read my guages until at 40m it cleared to 1 foot viz. I couldnt believe it as i continued to slowly descend, i must have been close to the wall as i became entangled occassionally in sticks and branches that had fallen in and lodged on the wall. I freed myself from one particular entanglement and rechecked my guages to find i was at 67m and still descending slowly. The water was clearing to about 4-5ft now. I wondered how deep it would go and decided to stop at 90m if i should happen to get that far and try for the bottom another day. I didn't get that far anyway as i soon touched down in 78m. This was my first big mistake as i sank in about 3ft of oozie mud and every thing suddenly silted out as i tried to free myself, to make matters worse i became entangled yet again in a mass of branches, rope and other rubbish that had accumulated on the bottom. I knew my air would be going fast as i worked hard to free myself and this made me panic. I fully inflated my wings and drysuit and with one last push suddenly broke loose and bolted to the surface. I managed to dump the air and slow my ascent at 30m which was ok because the alladin pro had a first stop of 9m. I ascended to my deco and got out of the water relieved in about 40 mins. I hope to go back soon but more prepared next time. i think i may have gotten a slight bend as my eyes were sore after the dive and my shoulder made squelchy noises but there was no real pain.
