In large portions of the civilised world metrication has caught on. If you use
your Air X in metric form it asks you to put in the cylinder volume in litres
at STP - this should overcomes the problem you highlight. Metric/Imperial
joking aside, you quite rightly point out that the Uwatec software may have a
few dodgy assumptions masquerading as lines of code. Personally I think the
software is a bit Mickey Mouse and that there has been insufficient investment
in this part of the product development.
