Roger, The pain in your back could be caused by most anything. I'm new to diving and dive medicine so I can offer no expert opinion on how diving might relate to your pain; however, there are many treatable causes of back pain which your doctor should investigate. Carefull history and physical examination are key. Routine lab studies including PSA and urinanalysis should be followed by MRI of spine, pelvis and abdomen ( I would insist upon these). Certainly, other tests may be necessary as well. Get it done.Do it right.
