I think this discussion has been interesting. Obviously some people consider it not worth the risk, but are there circumstances where it might become a last resort? Edmonds intended the techniques he describes for remote locations. What do people consider to be remote these days? I wouldn't consider it justified diving in the ocean off Sydney, or anywhere along the East coast of Australia. The hyperbaric centres are all located on the coast, and provided you are in communication with local emergency services, it's likely that some form of transport will get you to a chamber.
