Ken I believe it was in my email footer where you saw "Extended Range" mentioned. I put it there along with other qualifications so that people know where I am with my diving when they reply to me on diving subjects, not to impress. I dont want someone flaming me for not knowing the answer to something that is covered in Trimix or rebreather courses as I havnt done these as yet. The extended range course teaches you to use up to 100% O2 to accelerate deco on deep air dives to 60m. This is the most useful to me as the English Channel wrecks are rarely deeper than this. Yesterday I had some free time for the first time in a few weeks, so I looked at the techdiver archives. I saw in there someone who said he was a "TDI Extended Range Diver" in his signature. I've always wondered this; What exactly is an "Extended Range Diver"? Why should I be impressed? I've seen people like Hal Watts offering courses in "Extended Range Diving", but always just assumed it was a clever ploy to seperate divers from their money in exchange for another badge, but could never prove that. Is this indeed the case? Thanks for the answers, Ken -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@terra.net'. Send subscription/archive requests to `techdiver-request@terra.net'.
