Hello I am a BSAC (British Sub-Aqua Club) and PADI diver based in the UK (CMAS ***). I am a regular UK diver, as well as the odd warm water holiday. I have been diving for just under three years and am about to undertake my Instructor course (BSAC). I am due to take a Nitrox course, here in the UK, in June. We are somewhat behind the US on technical diving, hence, am interested to see what people's experience is. BSAC have come out against it (quite firmly) and I do not see any change in their attitude for a year or so. Hence, in the UK the Nitrox associations are all US founded. All diving here is cold water (0oC - 18oC) with viz of 1 inch (English Channel) to 60 feet (mainly in Scotland). 90% of our diving is based on wrecks, of which we have more then we can handle. Due to the rough weather and strong tides we are always getting new ones "pop up" each year. Our fish are grey, brown or grey - so its a good job we like wrecks. If you like diving around live ammunition - this is your place. If any one is coming to the UK or wants info just mail me (however, I am not willing to mail back live ammunition). - nigel beighton.
