Apparently, they used to freedive for them, but the demand for lobster is such that somebody came up with the bright idea of giving them tanks ... a few organizations are trying to give them some training... I take it that in tropical waters they mean what British divers call "crawfish", i.e. with very small claws but a big tail and a very spiky body, rather than the northern water lobster with big claws. Is there any plan or tendency for them to:-? (1) make artificial underwater shelters for the lobsters, so the lobster population there is not limited by availability of natural shelters to hide away from natural predators in. (2) eliminate competing natural predators such as octopuses and morays. (3) leave the berried (= with eggs on) females alone. (4) get and man their own decompression facility. > ... and at the end of the day all of them are bent, some very seriously. Who unbends them at the moment? Or do they merely steadily accumulate bends injuries?, like old-style Greek hardhat sponge divers used to. Is "at the end of the <day>" literal, or what does it mean? Excuse my British ignorance with some of the finer points of American English.
