Just the sort of reply one would expect from someone called STROKEBUSTER. It seems to me, and maybe I'm missing something, but a lot of the posts in this archive are more to do with people STROKING their own egos in public than the sport of diving. Heaven forbid that sensible debate, or objective comment should get in the way of the self declared elite few flaming away at anyone with a dissident comment, no matter how trivial. Does it occur to you that maybe these extremist positions stifle comment somewhat, and maybe this archive would be of more use to you nameless gods of the techdiving community (and not to mention us low life learner tech divers who have bearly passed our twentieth year of diving and have yet to suck helium below 300') if we concentrated less using every possible opportunity to have a go at someone because they use a BC which the 'gods' have not anointed, or their light is on the back instead of the side, or they suck from the wrong hose ? Whilst this stuff has its place in extreme projects like WKPP where I have no doubt that the water would be thick with dead divers if they didn't 'do it right', don't you think it is taken a little far at times ? Maybe there would be a bit more active participation to a wider audience and a better sharing of knowlege if guys like you could be happy in yourself that you are a really cool person and we all think you are great and there is no need to play with yourself in public all the time to keep proving it ? Just a thought. But them I'm probably a 'stroke' anyway (what ever that means). Guy. PS. My mail server is down so don't bother sending abusive mail direct, use the archive.
