Interesting summer we're having here. After our discovery on Sunday of a big ol' pit in our weenie cave, WKPP diver The Rat gives a call and says he's got a place to check out, but wants to make sure he's not wasting his time or scooping someone else's booty if we've already been there. I said "Nope, it's yours." So later I get a call that Barry and another WKPP buddy found a monster cave! Excellent! More seats in the peanut gallery! And since my buddy Barry likes to bust my chops on the net now and then ;-), when it's for my own good, I wanna ask: how did you guys handle that 240 ft. stuff on air anyway? Is it skill? Practice? Experience? Dive team affiliation? Superior physical conditioning? The way you rig your gear? A judgement call? Is it like drunk driving -- you get better at it the more you do it? ;-) Then, another bud of mine (you guys might have met him -- I loaned him my 80's to dive support for WKPP a couple Sundays ago) continues to push the fracture he found in another sink that we checked into recently. He reports last night that at 50ft., it heads straight down (tight side-mount) and that he finally stopped at 180ft. -- with blue water and what seemed to be a wider space about 15ft. below! This too is south of Wakulla. North Florida Fun -- so much cave, so little time. Christopher A.
