This includes footage of a hammerhead at a cleaning station and one head on within two feet of my lens, lots and lots from a little further away... but I also remember that they always left with the bubbles. Perhaps they are skiddish at Darwin Island, I don't know. As you can see, I am aware that it is possible... on this same trip, I happended to see John McKenny (Heyydudes dive partner) diving with a MK15...he had a lot easier time of it getting up to the Whale sharks and the Hammerheads, so I speak not from wistfulness but from experience. This was the trip that made me want a rebreather... since then I have often sat and observed fish etc. and have always had the best experience in between breaths... hmmm... I am not advocating rebreathers instead of OC gear, I will continue to use OC gear for my diving, but there are absolutely legitimate reasons to use a rebreather and it is my opinion that observation of wildlife is one. There is not a contest between Hogarthian OC and ReBreathers anymore than it's a contest between air and Heliox, they each have their place, and I intend to continue to, gain knowledge, understanding, and even use both! BTW, where do you go to see your hammerheads? (I'm not out of money yet.) Regards, Bill Bill Elliott, Chief Bottle Washer | I don thin that word means...
