TAM hasn't quite been the same since Tom (the founding owner) died, the
City has started enforcing street parking quite strictly, so you're
likely to get a ticket if you try parking anywhere near them, and they
stopped pumping Nitrox when Freddy parted ways with Mark and took his
filter and O2 bottles down the road to Aquarius with him. Mark, Kevin,
and Guy are still good people, though, and I'd suffer the rigors of a
ride on the TTC to get Guy to overhaul my Poseidon for me.

Aquarius is at 416-604-4203; it has a bit more of a CMAS leaning than
most shops on this side of the Atlantic, as the owner is from Poland.

A Mississauga shop named the Air Supply is presently setting up to offer
Nitrox. They also handle Dive Rite and a couple brands of manifold and
such gear.

Presently, the Toronto-area dive shop I most want to be near when I need
something is Kingston Dive Centre. Yes, they're almost three hours east
of Toronto, but they have good staff, good products, and good prices.
Also they're the Canadian distributor for a couple of lines of tech gear.
Besides, there's some great diving not far from their front door, which
is more than any of the shops in Toronto can say.

I recently came across a flier from Sportech SCUBA, a fairly new facility
at 6965 Davand Dr. in Mississauga, 905-670-4916. I haven't been there
yet, but they're on a must-see list next time I get out to that side of
the city. The owner is an IANTD trimix instructor, so one would expect
his dive shop to be quite respectably tech.

I should disclaim that there are a lot of other dive shops in and around
Toronto, and perhaps some of the others do a bit of tech as a sideline
too, but the above represents what I know about personally.
