Pressure chamber studies with several hundred participants have shown=
 clearly that mental capabilities of most people are compromised already at=
 a depth of only -30m (90'). Although almost nobody experiences a real=
 narcosis at this depth, the effect may negatively affect the ability to=
 judge and properly handle critical situations.

I have to add that my knowledge is exclusively theoretical since I am not a=
 very experienced diver myself (and certainly not a tech-diver). However,=
 IMHO the effect of nitrogen narcosis on the frequency of diving accidents=
 may be as underestimated by a lot of divers as the well-proven effect of=
 even low levels of alcohol on skiers (and drivers, divers, etc.).=20
