This business of taking an empty tank down reminds me of a trick Bruce Bowker taught me down on Bonaire a few years back. This works well if you have a bunch of tanks of identical construction and size. If you hold the each tank by the valve and strike the bottom on the floor, you can hear which ones are full or empty by the sound produced. Now, for the benefit of any red-neck, bone-smuggling, pony-petting strokes who might be reading this list, I am opening the floor to debate: does a full tank make a higher or lower tone when struck than an empty one? Inquiring minds want to know. --JCG
