Greg pointed out that a extra mask can help when using a full face
mask. This is handy if primary reg quits, in a need to share air
or in described vomiting situation.

We often dive in limited visibility and to sensibly conduct anything
this complicated in coordination with your buddy is practically
impossible.

Vomiting in a Full face mask would normally cause inhalation of vomit
from oral-nasal seal and limited visibility because of slime and
pepperoni on face plate.

I have trained a lot to handle vomiting situation with my AGA mask.
Procedure that I would use is following:
-Press mask down from forehead to form a gap between jaw and mask. Some
air will start to flow.
-Press purge. All air will escape trough bottom of the mask.
-Continue pressing purge until eruption is finished.

Point here is that when purge is pressed in Interspiro MK II regulator
EXHALATION PORT IS BLOCKED. This is because there is a plastic
spring loaded valve after normal exhaus valve that causes safety
pressure by equally pressing inhalation and exhalation mechanism.

We have used these "AGA"=Interspiro masks for quite some time.
I rate Spiro right after POSEIDON JETSTREAM for demandind diving.
I find these two regulaors the only two acceptable for big gas
flows in cold conditions. They do not ice and free flow easily.
Spiro will ice if rinsing water is not properly cleaned after previous
dives/washes.

NOTICE
Starting to dive with a full face mask will in most cases increase
your risk significantly.

Yours,

Reima
