Subject: Re: inflating lift bags
The tape runs from the holding bag to the surface bag.In the holding bag
is a small 1-2 pound weight, on the lift bag is an attached small (1
litre) tank into which air is decanted. A little like the old stab
inflators.the lift bag is fully closed with a blow off valve
incorporated.
Every three metres we have a small D-ring sown into the tape, I have two
tapes one of 25m length and one of 60m length. The problem with the
system is bulk, but I trade that for its simplicity and the fact that it
is deployed without you being fixed to it, it cannot drag you up!
To use you take the holding bag, take out the lift beg, inflate using
the small attached cylinder and let go, the whole thing deploys in front
of you.
We repack the system on the way up during deco.

Cheers
