Just saw one of these in a dive shop to day.  Although it sounds like
good idea at first I don't think it will hold up.  
It's identical to the Magna Doodle just a smaller version.  Now I got one
of those magna doodles for my kid and he wrecked it within hours.  Any
sharp impact on the writing face destroys the cells making them useless.
This product is simply no robust enough to stand up to the rigors of
diving. 
BTW the store display model was already damage in this manner and area of
about 2 inches in diameter was destroyed after anly a day or two on
display.
