Subject: Caves and Ft Lauderdale
I just got back from a wonderful time down in Florida. I finished up Full
Cave with Jarrod Jablonski and then drove down to Ft Lauderdale to do some
wreck diving.

I'll start with JJ first. Everyone knows what caliber of instructor JJ
is.......bottom line.........they come much better than him. We (Mike Kravit
and myself) had a great time, it was a lot of fun, but more than
that.......he showed us the RIGHT way. It is amazing how easy everything is
when you are configured correctly and how much fun you have. JJ was always
pushing us towards perfection, not that any of our dives were flawless. BUT
that is the level he kept pushing towards. It was funny how anyhting that
could go wrong on a dive, went wrong. Lights failed, buddies ran out of air,
lock down screws on reels just disappeared, we lost the line, went the wrong
way, etc. I began to clue in that if we went in through a tight little
restriction, when we came out it would be in total darkness sharing air. We
both (Mike and I) had a great time. I was really bummed when the class was
over because I was always ready and waiting for the next dive.

That weekend I spent in Boca at Mike's house (thanks again Mike and Lorene).
I got the chance to dive the Sucre with George and Bill Mee (thanks for a
great time). It was funny to sit back and watch George point out
convolutions and simply useless garbage on peoples rigs. He is right on
target with this shit and you guys know it. Anyhow, I had a great time,
thanks George and Bill (and Jim for taking us there). Missed the Hydro
Sunday (glad I wasn't the only one), shit like that happens. But I did get
on it Monday with John Chluski. ;-) It was a great dive. Tom Mount was
there with his class and Ralph was there with his Mako. Absolutlely no
current on the wreck at all. Wish you could have been there George. My
computer freaked out on that dive too, the piece of shit. I loved the way
that girl flipped out when you showed her that your "computer" said you
didn't have to deco. That was classic. ;-)

Mike
