(I assume these people are making their first dives ever - how else could they be so inept?) I don't think hose stuffing was the problem; total ignorance, or sheer stupidity maybe. My vote goes to the jerk who probably doesn't cover regulator recovery in a "learn to dive in a weekend" class session. Even if the students skipped class, it's still incumbent upon the instructor to be sure his students know how to dive before he sets them loose.] ! ! ! ! ! ! Set flame on: Couldn't FIND a regulator?!?!?!? FIND A REG????? What, did it grow fins and swim away???? Can't FIND a reg that's ATTACHED TO THE TANK, that can'tget more than one arm's length away in any given direction? Can't reach back to tank valve and find not one but probably *2* hoses to follow down to the second stage? Can't execute a simple arm sweep to recover the regs? Can't roll over from right to front to recover the regs? EXCUSE ME????? And you say not one, but TWO poor slobs had this problem? Whoever certified them should be shot! There is no excuse for not teaching such a simple skill. This may start a whole new flame war, but the next of kin should be suing the instructor. >This kind of accident should not be happening. Why are people with >so little experience doing dives this deep, especially considering >the water temp was only 45-50. My sentiments exactly. Martha
