What planet are you from? Technically, you are right.  Hell, some guys can
get all the way down to 400 feet and then make a free ascent all the way
up.  However, in the real world of Scuba, anyone who has actually had to
make a free ascent knows that even 60 feet is a hell of a stretch.  Deeper
than that you need to rebreathe off the BC. 

Nevertheless, I agree that "naked with the magic stone" is a valid diving 
configuration in many cases, including the dive you described.
