UnderCurrent's editor is David Adams Editor, Undercurrent 1001 Bridgeway Suite 649 Sausalito, CA 94965 E-mail: adams@me*.co* The monthly newsletter reports "unbiased" reviews of dive sites, including live-aboards. Also published are features on aspects of diving and reviews of dive gear, e.g., accessories for better diving, rebreathers, etc. No advertising of the type usually seen in magazines appears in the newsletter. However, the company does sell it's own line of books and occasional dive trips under its own name. About a third of the copy is Letters to the Editor and annually is published a compendium of live-aboards based on readers' reviews. I have subscribed for about a year and find the readers' comments of most interest to me. If you are going to pony up for a live-aboard or dive specialty resort, it's probably worth finding out what other divers say about the place. This is one place to find those comments. I have never seen a "tech" dive site reviewed, say the Doria or even some of the wrecks in the Caribbean. Very few US dive operations are reviewed. Most restaurant reviewers go incognito. I may be wrong, but I get the impression that when Undercurrent goes, the dive operator knows and may put on a special effort. Peter Heseltine
