A good friend has repeatedly taken his Apollo (no modifications) well beyond their suggested depth. I personally have seen him take it to 270' (ocean). He has been as deep as 302' on it. Often exceeds the depth rating. I have the scooter, it works fine. I'm sure there is a bit of safety margin built into te 165' rating, but over 200' might be pushing it. I'm told in Europe they use a kit to add pressure to it to take it to greater depths. Can't help you with locating the kit.
