Old 1/2 inch valve >tanks can be used forever...or until they fail hydro. >Andyd Cohen Well,not quite forever.If they're tapered seat,or what we used to call "pipe thread",every time you remove the valve (vip's,hydro's,etc) ,you have to screw it in just a little farther in order to get it to seat.Eventually,you run out of threads,and the valve still isn't seated.However,the tanks USUALLY outlive their usefulness before this happens.BTW,with an old-style valve like that,I'd check the code to see if they're carbon steel(3A stamped on the tank) or chrome-molybdenum (3AA).The carbon steel tanks are VERY prone to rust..keep a close eye on 'em. _____________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ >>Can any of y'all answer this one?
