Sorry, I haven't dug through the archives for exact citations, but the sentiment expressed was that the Navy could afford to pay a full time tech for every Mk16 they deployed, and they didn't care if he spent 8 hours servicing it for every hour of use. This seemed extreme to me at the time, so I thought I'd ask. I used to work for NASA and they would only put up with this sort of excess for very short periods of time. Anyway, hearsay is just that. Rod has already confirmed that the situation is much better, but he dives the Mk15.5 by all accounts. I can only hope that his experience will translate to the 500. I'm really looking forward to seeing the CCR500. Unfortunately the only local dealers who have a clue about CCR's are waiting for the Cochran machine to be released, so I'll probably need to go a 'roamin to find one. I'll probably be in Hawaii sometime next month, I'd like to talk with you about this. Scott. PS - I may be confused about the source of the bad Mk16 press. Aside from reading this list, I've also spoken with several SCR manufacturers, most of whom had low opinions of their competition. I may have picked up this piece of 'wisdom' from one of them. S.
