Hello Peter >There are places where medical gas O2 costs are outtasight - most of South >America for example. Try buying medical O2 in Patagonia or parts of Brazil >- you'll need to mortgage your gran. Just for the record, you can buy O2 @ US$ 36.00 per cubic meter (1,000 liters). Helium is about US$ 60.00 per cubic meter. Those are normally delivered on 50L cylinder @ 200 BAR. These prices are valid for Southern Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and below/south). The prices also vary depending on your supplier (White Martins, Oxigenio do Brasil, AGA). If you argue/bargain and say the gas is for diving (pretty rare down here) you are almost certain to get a nice discount. I myself bought He @ US$ 35.00/m3 and O2 @ US$ 25.00/m3.
