Won't work.
Might hurt the sacrosanct immediate bottom line; after all, if the
guy never dives, he won't buy gear at all. At least, if he croaks out
on his first dive, you'll at least have the money you got from
selling him some gear. "One buck in the hand is better than two in
the bush"...
