I am by no means an expert on the subject. However, I crew on a dive boat in long Island NY. If we have a case of D.C.S we Emediatly put the Diver on oxygen, administer asperin, and lots- I mean Lots, of water to rehidrate the victim. Most cases the "hit" clears up or is eleviated. Most cases of skin hits clear up with-in the first hour. 1- The asperin helps the pain and comforts the diver more. 2- Asperin thins the blood stream letting the treatment "take" quicker and better.
