There was a case in False Bay, CT, about one year ago of a diver who
switched to pure o2 at 6 meters and then sank to his death. In this
case o2-on was suspected but the death attributed to other facters. A
similar case was reported by the BS-AC medical officer in his annual
report, I think the year was 1994, and the subject was a young female
diver who also disappeared to her death. If my memory serves me
she was reported as having switched to an unspecified ppo2 at 6
meters after a long, deep dive on air.
