A spearfisherman recently went "missing". Bits of his suit were found sometime later and taken to Len Compagno of the South African Museum here in Cape Town - he is supposedly 'THE' GW expert - who apparently said that the bite pattern is not that of a GW (there is however, some debate going on about this at present). However, my guess is that many divers assume that any shark they see is a GW - I guess (again) mainly due to the media hype about shark attacks and movies like "Blue Water, White Death".
