I am planning for an overnight deep wreck trip on which I plan to dive gas. Up to four dives are possible but I would like to bring no more than two sets of doubles. Air is available, but I don't have a Haskel or high pressure storage bottles. One plan I have considered is to fill both sets with a relatively rich He mix (e.g., 17/50) and use these for the first dives of the day. I would then top them off with air for repetetive dives. This would yield something like a 19% O2, 20-25% He mix (to be analyzed, of course), which is a little more narcotic than I might like beyond 200 fsw but a lot better than air. A tables expert (Randy Bohrer) has told me that if I used the 17/50 repetetive tables for this mix that I will fine, in fact quite conservative. I can see that O2 exposure might be an issue if I go beyond about 220 fsw, but otherwise can anyone suggest flaws in the scheme? jheimann@is*.wl*.gt*.co*
