the latest issue of deeptech illustrates how to shoot a lift bag, i.e unspool whatever feet you need, lock the brake, drop the reel ,inflate the bag and there it goes That make more sense that having the reel unwind as the bag goes up, cos if you got a reel jam as it goes, that's bye-bye liftbag or hello embolism. . I think that clipping a simple bolt snap on the line (as a paper weight) as you unwind the length you need, brings the slack line right down under your fins, and away from you, your fellow divers, and straight down, instead of floating around before sinking. This way, if you deploy 50 ft of line ,you have a 25' length (actually two 25' lengths round trip) under you fins. (with the bolt snap at the end), thus limiting the entanglement hazard. Any comments? Am I making any sense here? Yeah, I think I am <VBG> Come on, NJ/NY gang, you guys should know about that..You love that lift bag thing right?
