Apparently, a certain manufacture is trying to put this in place. 
The fitting is the same as used by the German ambulance service. The 
argument goes that too many divers are getting equipment/mixes 
confused and that by dedicating equipment etc etc, it will sort 
everything out.

I've discussed this with several people to find out the current 
status. Response was pretty noncommittal apart from everyone was 
trying to fight it and it shouldn't happen.

Sounds too much like someone trying to make money out of 
divers...again.
