Sean,
who certified you in trimix without doing a complete course. Skills etc
bottom time requitements and a complete overview of at least 4 suitable
meands of equipment config. I sure hope it was not an IANTD instructor
and if it was I sure would like to know who.

On maniflods, while I personally prefer the double o ring (Diverite,Sea
elites) Many knowlegegable and accomplished tech divers / instructors
such as Billy Deans prefer the OMS and they do so because it has
provided them with good service. In fact privately billy and I debate
the merits of each.

A training course is responsible to introduce you to safe techniques,
enviromenal consideration and selection of appropriate equipment. A
training course can only provide a foundation for you to develop from
as even with IANTD's ofeten criticed requirements of bottom time
minimums and stress management drills we can only lay a foundation.
From the mix course you describe someone was negilent and did not
provide you with a sound foundation. Hopefully JJ corrected that for
you. Please, if your mix course was with an IANTD instructor provide me
with their name we will take corrective action if the standards were
not met or exceeded.
