SS REPUBLIC - Sunk in January 1909, the Republic remained lost until 1984 when
she was found by Captain Bielenda as part of a salvage contract. It is rumored
that when she sank she was carrying the military payroll en-route to Italy -
valued today at over 250 million dollars. Three salvage operations were
conducted during the eighties but were unsuccessful. SUB AQUA conducted the
first sport diving expedition in 1993 where we found blue water, huge fish and a
wreck begging to be explored again - maybe you will find the gold!

We will depart Montauk on June 23 at 8:30 PM and arrive by 5:30 AM conditions
permitting you will be able to conduct up to two dives on this site. Sometime
after you have fallen asleep we will pull anchor and move to the SPIKEFISH, the
most divingest sub of the American fleet.

SS SPIKEFISH - After the SPIKEFISH had served our country during World War II
she was take out of service and ultimately was decommissioned and scuttled as a
test target. Today she rests in approximately 240 feet of water. When we arrive
at the SPIKEFISH on the morning of June 25. You will be able to conduct,
conditions permitting up to two dives. After dinner we will set sail back to
Montauk, where we will layover till the morning of the 27th.

USS BASS, U-853 & Block Island - Nothing can satisfy a week of diving the New
England wrecks like spending two days off Block Island diving the American and
German subs - USS Bass and U-853. We will depart Montauk after a hearty
breakfast and head to dive the USS BASS, known for her good diving conditions
clear water and big fish, she like the SPIKEFISH served during the war and then
was scuttled. That afternoon we will pull into historic Block Island where we
will spend the night. Next morning we will head out to the U-853 to round out
the week. Then back to Montauk.
