Subject: Re: inflatable surface marker buoy
These things are easily available in the uk, from sausage type shapes to
the more supportive pear shaped varieties with a lift capacity of 50kg
(100+lbs). We generally deploy these from the wreck to surface if we
cannot get back to the shot line.We use tape in a bag rather than a reel
and line, we find that tape never gets tangled and it can be deployed
totally remote from the diver meaning no possibility of being entangled
and lifted by the buoy. It gives warning to the surface boat that you
are remote from the marker buoy and allows the boat to follow you during
the deco. You are probably familiar with the trapeze type disconnect
deco station for the rest of the team.Basically everybody drifts on deco
and gets picked up by the boat on surfacing This allows us to dive in
our short tidal windows and deco safely in the now running tide.
contact numbers are Bowstone products, use my name and ask for Simon.
