Dear Colleagues, I have just joined the list and would like to make a little intro- duction in case someone would be interested in communicating with me. Hereby we announce our strong wish to elaborate good contacts with SCUBA-diving instructors and techdivers, marine biologists, underwater photographers and cameramen as well as those interested in other mari- ne fields. We are very young but rather efficient team - Department of Underwater Research, Eco-Center of Moscow State University (Russia), specialized in various aspects of SCUBA-diving activity including underwater biological research and fisheries, marine expeditions, conferences and festivals, underwater photography and vi- deo-filming, and diving education. We are open for interesting ideas, proposals and exchange of ex- perience and news, particularly in the field of diving education. We have just started teaching students by international standards and ne- ed much info on this subject. Anyone who can share his/her experience or opinion is welcome! By the way, we can propose diving-trips to various areas of the for- mer-USSR including the White and Black seas, Baikal Lake, Sea of Ja- pan, Kamchatka penninsula and Komandor islands etc. The closest event will be: "International Seminar on Biology of the Polar Seas" organized in collaboration with Russian Federation of Underwater Activity, to be held at the White Sea Biological Station of Moscow State Uni- versity in June, 16-26, 1996. Departure from Moscow - June the 14th; arrival to Moscow - June the 28th. The deadline for regist- ration is April the 1st. Another White Sea programme will be or- ganized in the first week of September 1996, within the frame of the 31st European Symposium on Marine Biology to be held in S-Pe- tersburg in September, 9-14. The deadline for registration is May the 1st.
