There was an incident in France during an Atlantis I exhibition in Mediterean sea last week. Several divers were able to try 2 Atlantis units during a full day. At the end of the session 2 extra divers apply for a dive. The first diver dove without problem under control from the instructors, but the second apparently went into the water without real control and approbation from the organisators. He was recovered later floating unconsciencly in the water. He was reanimated and had no injury other than the black out. Cause is due to hypoxia. Apparently the units were left with injection open all the time even during the surface interval and the diver entered in the water with an empty cylinder. The cylinder was empty when the diver was recovered. Also it has been mentionned that the choke of the injection system were not installed on the unit, no confirmation of this rumor yet. The unit is now under expertise with the authorities. Purpose of this session was to introduce the Tek diving concept in France with Nitrox, rebreather, Etc ... It is clearly a success as the use of Nitrox is (temporary i hope) suspended by the authorities...
