There has been a lot of discussion re rebreaters, both Semi Closed 
Circuit, SCCR, and Closed, CCR. Most of the discussion treats both 
systems as if they're similar. They are miles apart, both from a design 
point of view, cost, training, performance, application and diving, with 
the CCR being much more complex, dangerous and expensive. You can have 
75% of the rebreather benefit with the SCCR, yet you increase the 
complexity tenfold going to a CCR.
