Find a book on dry suits or that discusses them so you can weigh the
pro's and cons of each type of suit. Any dry suit with proper
undergarments will keep you warm but different materials have different
advantages and disadvantages. i.e. neoprene is inherently buoyant,
trilaminates and vulcanized rubber dry quickly, crushed neoprene gives a
good fit an doesn't wear out very fast.....the list continues. There is
even a company that offers a suit with miniature exhaust valves at the
ankles to help prevent feet first ascents. Good luck and hope you pick a
good one. Oh by the way diver's supply in Fla has a neoprene dry suit on
sale for $499 (I have no idea about the quality but it sure is cheap!)
