I don't agree. It is quite possible to dive a semi-closed nitrox 
rebreather too deep and die because elevated pO2. A audible or visual alarm 
warning the diver that this has occurred would be essential. A depth 
guage is passive; it requires the diver to look at it to see if the depth 
has been exceeded. A simple oxygen sensor at the scrubber exit cannected 
to an alarm is a ridiculous omission. Somebody could build a simple device 
that could be worn on your arm that would be beneficial to OC divers as 
well. An oxygen sensor wired to an audible alarm with the appropriate 
electronics sealed in a container that is purged with your breathing gas 
and sealed before each dive would buzz when the pO2 inside the container 
exceeded the setpoint. Rod
