And for the folks from WKPP, it would have been hard to spot, I'll admit - it has been in in the signature of every post I've made, oh, for the last 9 months or so? :-) Yeah, you said something to offend me. You said that you got on this list (techdiver) to disrupt it. You were gonna get rid of all the weenies (translation: everyone who disagreed with anything you said) and so forth. Someone go dig up a few of georges old posts and repost them. Should be worth a laugh. > There have been a few of these over the last year > or so, and they all have the same complaint - they don't want to hear from us. > This occurs on every list in every subject matter, it is not unique to diving. Hmmm....and it all seems to revolve around you, eh? Could this be some sort of clue? Every list, every subject, and somehow they all learn to hate you? To you think that there is a conspiracy here, George? Everyone is out to get you? Behind your back we all pass e-mail around? We have search engines around, and every time you show up someplace new the engines kick off, and somehow we coopt the people who were already on the scene? Do you think I got a piece of mail that said, "Psst. George is a *net untouchable*!!! Attack everything he says. Only pass this note to other net oldtimers and members of the Masons." > I > will outlast all of them, as I can see we are getting good information out to > the guys who are learning, or the ones who want to go extreme, in between > defending ourselves from the likes of St Nick. You know, George, how come I picked you, of all people, to attack on this list? Could it be that I just don't want your information spread about? No, I don't think that is it. Could it be that I think that somehow you guys have usurped the scene from us old net guys? That is laughable, at its best. The 'scene' on the net exists because of participants, and at least on techdiver, I was very much a lurker, trying to learn from the list. Could it be that you are just a rude person who gets on a list with the intention of disrupting it, brags about making bets regarding who can be the most disruptive and get kicked off the list first and brags about making disruptive posts solely to win sushi bets? Could it be that there was more information being passed around on this list before you got here? With a lot less crap? Clue 2: The stuff you posted recently about deep stops on extended deco was old news here, and I recall people who were talking about modeling it. The only thing you've added is an experimental population with anecdotal support. You've posted nothing new to the list, George, that I can recall, except for some stuff about scooters and so forth. And even then you didn't post any details. The stuff you posted about regs: I thought that the Poseidons breathing wet in currents was pretty old hat. I mean, what do you expect in a regulator with a forward facing 360 degree exhaust? Then you threw in something about a slam of the swedes. You added something to the discussion with your recommendation, but then took it away with your refusal to discuss details. You cut off the conversation with something like, I wouldn't have said it if it weren't true. Somehow, that does not go with teaching (which you claim below). Telling someone what is pretty useless when you leave out the why. > I can now se that the oldline diving communitry is trying to keep us a > secrest, and it is not working. These guys do nothing, share nothing, are > nothing. We are where the action is, and we teach, share, invite eveyone to > participate with us, we do it right and we get results. I can stand on that. -G Interesting. Compare this to George's post of two or three weeks ago where he told everyone to quit bothering him to go diving with the WKPP as they had all of the divers they needed. He has made similar statements in the past about not bothering to retrain people who learned to do it wrong and so forth. If you can stand on that statement above, George, check the bottoms of your shoes, and go wipe them on the grass. Because the statement you are standing on reminds me of something my dog left in the lawn. No one is trying to keep you a secret, George. That little bit of persecution came out of your own imagination. Perhaps there is some truth to this in the cave diving community, perhaps not. There is no truth to it here. You are the only one holding yourself back. People don't hate you because of what you've done. What you've done is the only reason they will listen to you even a little bit. People hate you because you are a rude, ignorant slob, with the manners of a spoiled thirteen year old who has just learned how to cuss. It is too bad you never learned to live in polite society as a child, George, or you'd have gone a lot farther today. Clue #3: The degree of negativity of the reaction does not correlate with the value of the message. There are a whole host of political examples. I think that if you learn that, you'll be in a better position to judge the value of your message.
