>Does anyone have a fix for the "airhead" <G> problem with the Viking hood? >What actually causes it? My wife had the same problem. We think she was getting a lot of air past her neck seal. The bubblehead problem was so bad that the hood was pulling her mask up against her nose rather uncomfortably. (she also didn't like being called a pencilnecked pinhead). She now wears the lip of her mask inside the hood instead of over it and learned how to squeeze the air from the hood. several solutions: 1. Put in a check valve. Lots of places sell them 2. Put the latex hood over your mask. You get a little water in again, but not as much.and can vent the air easier. 3. Trade the latex hood for the neoprene hood option on the viking. I have a viking with a neoprene hood and love it. My head gets a little wet, but I can vent the extra air from my hood by rolling my head to the side. No problems with ear squeeze on descent either. 4. Put a bit zip-tie around your neck seal and pull it really tight before you start the dive. That will prevent any air getting past the neck seal. :) :) Tim Taylor taylor@ru*.ne* 1996 Ford Seahorses Underwater Photo Contest Winning photos!!! http://www.rust.net/~taylor
