  Gerrit, Eric Maiken at U of Cal Irvine (Physics Dept) has written some great 
stuff on bubble mechanics complete with grapics - ask him , he is on here. When 
we do not do the deep stops, we are basicly treating our DCS for the rest of
the 
deco, and then feel the pain at the upper swtops, necessitating longer times on 
oxygen, something we try to avoid to keep the pulmonary damage to a minimum. I 
like the fastest possible deco, as it is safer.
