Fellow Divers, As you are possibly already aware, this past spring we located and positively identified the elusive wreck of the WWI passenger liner SS Carolina, approximately 70 miles off the New Jersey coast in about 250 fsw. On subsequent dives, I located something which may (or may not) be of value. After giving it much thought, I went to federal court to secure salvage rights to the wreck. I have since been apointed substitute custodian of the wreck and placed it under arrest. As a result, I also have incurred an obligation to the court to document our activities on the wreck. The discovery of a virgin wreck in a remote location is an interesting opportunity. It occured to us that we could use the internet to help us collect and display information on the wreck and our activities on it. With the help of Tom and Tracey Wagner at the New Jersey Scuba web page (http://www.njscuba.com), we have developed a virtual museum site for the SS Carolina and the doors are ready to open. We have tried to include in the museum the things about the wreck that we thought would be interesting, but we expect the site to grow and change. The Virtual Board of Directors of the museum are looking to the museum visitors for advice, criticism, and ideas to improve the site. Please stop by and take a look. The address is http://www.njscuba.com/Museum/Carolina Thanks, John Chatterton JC
