I keep forgetting the guys like Pillicer who don't need to listen to this crap that are on here - to them I appologize. The root of the attacks on us are the fact that we are organized, and as such have rules. As Casey McKinlay said when he booted one guy who would not follow them, "There are too many people in line who want to do it right for us to wait for you to work it out for yourself, especially in light of the fact that we already have." The dive instructional community has taught things that we now know don't work - they need to change, not defend bad practices. Like Pillicer said, they won't look too good. Take the dive rite light - you all said I was an asshole about that, it will go to five hundred feet, it is a fine lgiht , etc. Well, read dive rite's own advertisements now. Was I right or wrong. Would a smart guy get the message and change lights, or argue the old one? The same guys who said I was wrong about the light say I am wrong about the hose , the scooter , the everything. Now, they just say I am faking messages, that I don't know how to fake messages, that I am nasty, as they call me all kinds of names, and so on. Well, which is it? Am I faking mesages, too stupid to fake mesages, sadistic, like the fake Harris said, or am I sharing information that the instructional commnunity and the one time great cave divers (before there were people who could actually dive and cave) ((sorry, truth hurts)) don't want YOU to hear? I think we all can figure out the answerr to this, like Parker said, "Look who has the end of the line" (his students). -G
