I'm not sure if this is the same unit that Ron Nishi, Mike Emmerman, and I examined at the Tec show a few years back, but it sounds like it. The small portable unit that we examined worked fine for listening to subclavian blood flow, but was totally inadequite for aquiring a clean precordial flow signal. The main drawback with any of the Doppler systems is that people need to be trained to understand what they are hearing and what constitutes a clean signal. The higher bubble grades are relatively easy to pick up, but the lower grades can be very difficult. Physically having the equipment in hand does not mean that you will be able to best take advantage of the technology without additional training, as most of you well know. P.S. I keep meaning to get on this list but keep forgetting to find out what server address I send my subscribe message to. Could someone send me a copy of the subscribe instructions?
