Subject: continue diving after computer failure?

Perhaps for YOU that's the main reason... I just like to use it as a
profiler. It give me feedback on my deco status, but, unless I'm in a
REAL multi level situation (e.g. recreational wall dive) I don't use
that information much of the time.

You screwed this one up BIG time... Try doing a 60' dive for 60
minutes on either a table OR a computer. Hint: not with deco!!! It
sounds like your primary computer (the one between your ears) needs
realignment.

Not to harp, but, this IS techdiver... you're *ATTEMPTING* to describe
an entirely recreational dive. I don't know of many people that would
plan a *serious* deco dive based on a computer. If you do, you better
have a MINIMUM of 2 of them. On the "wall" dive (this is what gave me
the BIG "recreational" flag), table limit at 60' is 55 minutes (NAUI).
My *computer* (Solution) shows 52 minutes NDl at 18m (60').

So, you're point is moot - you can't even plan a 60' dive for an HOUR
(let alone any time at 100' like you wanted) on this computer (unless
you're willing to go into deco) - in other words you really picked a
BAD example here. If you're willing to do deco, there are PLENTY of
tables that you can use... Better yet, run off a COUPLE of sets of
tables using DECOM or other appropriate table generating sw.

> In short, there are reasons to carry a computer. There are also

>still use your tables! This is worthless!

Again, you're wrong... If I'm diving Nitrox and I dive on my tables,
my computer can still function as a profiler - somethign to keep my
log book with. That's a useful function even *IF* I'm not using it's
N2/deco calcs.

0/2 - one more and you're out - care to try again???
